We see the purpose of anointing with oil throughout Scripture such as anointing priests beginning in Exodus to set them apart, as well as the anointing of kings beginning in 1 Samuel. We later see the function of anointing oil in order to heal the sick. But what’s with the oil? Why OLIVE oil specifically? Ever wondered?
